More marketing won’t help much if people are landi More marketing won’t help much if people are landing on an offer they don’t understand or reaching a dead end after they show interest.

Before you increase the content, traffic, or spend, check the basics underneath it: the offer, the message, the path to purchase, and the follow-up.

Find the weakest point first. That’s probably where your attention needs to go next.

When marketing isn’t working, adding more can feel When marketing isn’t working, adding more can feel like the obvious next move.

More content. More ads. Another platform. A new tool.

But more attention won’t help much if the offer isn’t clear or you’re putting it in front of people who were never likely to buy in the first place.

This week, I’m breaking down four things to check first: the offer, the message, the path to purchase, and the follow-up. Fix the weak spot first, then put more attention on what’s working.

There’s something deeply surreal about standing at There’s something deeply surreal about standing at the front of a room and watching people work through a workbook you helped create.

Today at The Boardroom, I looked out and saw pages open, hands typing, and people genuinely thinking through how they want to show up and get seen.

That workbook started as ideas, conversations, and a whole lot of collaborative work with @uncommonable . Then suddenly, it was real. In people’s hands. Helping them make decisions about their businesses.

So. freaking. Wild!!!!

I’ve spent years teaching marketing through a screen, so moments like this still catch me off guard in the best way. Real people were using something we built to figure out their next steps.

A huge thank you to @thismothermeansbusiness and @itslaurasinclair for creating the kind of room where thoughtful work can actually happen—and for inviting me to be part of it.

I’m still taking it all in, honestly. This whole chapter feels a little surreal. 💛
Podcast burnout is weird because sometimes your wo Podcast burnout is weird because sometimes your workload is technically fine… and your brain is still doing gymnastics over the numbers.

You compare your current capacity to old-you. You see someone else’s downloads. You start inventing a timeline for where your show “should” be by now. Fun! 😂

Becky Mollenkamp and I talked about this, plus what changes when you define success around your actual capacity, your why, and the support you have around you.

One of the sneakiest parts of podcast burnout? The One of the sneakiest parts of podcast burnout? The part that has nothing to do with recording an episode.

It’s checking the numbers. Wondering if people are still listening. Watching someone else’s show grow faster and quietly thinking, okay… am I doing this wrong?

Becky Mollenkamp and I got into this on the podcast because whew, the emotional workload of making a show is REAL.

Sometimes what keeps you going is having people around who can say, “Yep. This part is hard. Keep going.”
