Could you imagine closing a $7,000 contract all because of your efforts on social media? What about going from a courtesy like or two (mostly from friends and family) to consistent engagement from people who actually care?

I promise I'm not talking fairy tales here!

My friend and client, Lee Aldridge, a soulful branding expert did just that in less than a year of working with me…

… all because she trusted my process of getting her leads through social media… leads that actually turn into business.

And listen, Lee doesn't have hundreds of thousands of followers. In this showcase, I'm sharing how we started from practically 0 and how we close a $7,000 contract all through the power of social media.

What is a Client Showcase?

Each client showcase blog post will reveal the statistics recorded from a client project in order to illustrate a few of my social media techniques.

With this series, you have the unique opportunity to learn the inner workings of what it takes to be successful online through social media and content marketing.

It is also my hopes to redefine what success means. It’s not just in the number of followers… Ultimately, social media success comes down to engagement, website traffic, and conversions.

The Challenge

Lee came to me in January of 2018, she needed someone guide her on the best social media strategies that would help get new clients into her program. She needed more visibility and a method to share her message (in her voice) so that the right people would be interested. And lastly, she was looking for growth strategies so that her ideal client would see the content

The Plan

From Jan 2018 – December 2018, we used a few different strategies that contributed to our success:

Consistent Social Media Content: We crafted content that had Lee front and center. We created a content calendar that consistently showcased Lee's authority in branding and her unique positioning in the market. We also layered in content that spoke to Lee's demographic — a bit of soulful, spiritual, thoughtful content that wasn't necessarily all about building a business. Our goal was for Lee's people to instantly feel a kinship with her.

Growth Strategies: Outside of content creation, we also focused on growing Lee's audience through networking. Each day, our aim was to connect with 50 individuals on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. We wanted to spend some time finding new businesses and individuals who'd need Lee's service but we also wanted to spend time nurturing those connections we already had.

Social Media Sales Funnel: We didn't just want to send folks to the website. We wanted them to really deepen their connection with Lee in a meaningful way. Our method of doing that was through a social media sales funnel. The top of our funnel was getting new followers on social media. The middle of our funnel was encouraging those followers to join the mailing list through a lead magnet: 16 Ways to Your Kickass Brand. And once they were on the mailing list, we gave them tons more value through a carefully crafted sequence and weekly touch points.

Video Marketing: Later in the year, we layered in video marketing. Lee would create a video in her style and voice which we'd then turn into YouTube content, social media posts, Facebook videos, and newsletters.

The Results

In the past year, we've grown our online community in the following ways:

  • Our Instagram audience saw the most growth fro 186 followers to 1072 targeted businesses
  • On Twitter, we started the year with 4 followers. We're now around 635.
  • Our Facebook audience grew from 20 impressions in December of 2017 to over 4,500 impressions in August of 2018.
  • The email list saw a 138% increase in sign ups for the year.
  • We launched the LinkedIn campaign in December of 2018 and by the end of the month, we've already seen a 54% growth in connections.

But more important than followers, we were able to get business for Lee as a direct result of our online marketing strategies. One of her most recent clients saw her soulful, spiritual posts on Instagram and instantly felt connected. Because of our content and the nurturing way we connected with this individual, Lee was able to close a $7,000 contract.

In the Client's Own Words

“Thank you for such a great job posting. You and your team are stellar at using my voice, and posting things I would post.  It’s really awesome and I get compliments all the time. I will absolutely be recommending you for my clients as they grow there businesses as well as anyone else who inquires about social media initiatives.”

Final Thoughts

It doesn't matter what size your audience is. In some folks eyes, having 1,000 fans on social media may not be enough. But for Lee and countless business owners just like her, having the RIGHT fans is what's really important.

Now, obviously, your results may be different, but I wanted to take a moment to show you what's possible. It's absolutely possible to grow your business using social media. If you use it properly.
