What if I told you that you didn't need to create any new content in order to post on social media.

Sound like the opposite of what you've heard before?

Here's the truth: There is SO MUCH going on in your business right now that you can turn into content.

What could that look like?
📱 Repurposing past content that performed well
📱 Sharing snippets of content from a blog, podcast, or feature
📱 Talking about what you're doing day-to-day
...the list goes on!

Between the vitriol, the constant updates, the notifications, the FOMO, and the fake news, social media is a never-ending scroll of stimulation and stress.⠀

Even before the pandemic, our socials were frustrating, and as a business owner I’ve had my own difficulties. But equally, I love how these platforms can create meaningful connections and give you a way to put your services in the hands of people who would love them the most.⠀

So how do we navigate this complicated world without losing our marbles?⠀

Read that again: Social media in and of itself is not bad or negative.

Oftentimes, it’s the thoughts we have about social media that turn into negative emotions. Do you ever find yourself feeling anxious while you're scrolling and you're so desperate to dissipate that feeling that you just keep on scrolling?

More often than not, it doesn't work, right? Instead, try putting your phone down and taking a moment away from it all. Meditate. Go for a walk. Talk to a friend.

If you're finding that no matter what you try, social media still gives you that negative feeling, reevaluate who you're following and the topics you're engaging in. Curate your feed into something that lifts you up.

It can be a bit challenging at first to shift your thinking but you can find the positive in social media again.

Follower numbers are a tricky thing. They’re so public and are typically the go-to metric for measuring success.

If you have 100, you may feel like you haven’t made it yet.
If you have 1,000 you may feel like you’re getting somewhere.
If you have 10,000 you may feel insta-famous.

But here’s the thing…

The number of followers you have does not equal the value your message has.

The number of followers you have does not equal the value you bring to your clients and customers. Your value comes from your message and the transformation your offer brings to the world.

If you have a podcast, your value may be informational or entertaining.
If you have a service business, your value is in being helpful and assisting your clients.
If you have a coaching business, your value is in being a guiding light for those who need you.

Here’s the wild truth about social media followers:
There are successful businesses who only have 10 followers.
There are accounts with 50,000 followers who don’t make a dime.
And then there’s everything in between.

So instead of focusing on the number of followers you have (or don’t have)...

Focus on the value you bring to those who are right in front of you waiting to hear what you have to say.

They need you.
